Visualize Art in Urban Cultural Development

Since China's impressive economic development began with its opening-up in 1980, people's pockets have gotten fuller with money. And, in the past five years, China's consumption capabilities for cultural products have increased dramatically too.

With the cultural industry proving yet another star of the economy, China is focusing its attention on another kind of development—cultural development, with its most important element, creativity.

The first China Beijing International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE) opens in Beijing on December 11th.

With the theme "Creativity, Science & Technology, Culture," the expo aims to brighten creative wisdom, integrate technological strengths, refresh cultural charms, and create monetary value.

As part of the ICCIE, the forum entitled "Visual Art Industry and Development of City Culture" invited experts to give their views on globalization of museum visitors and how business can benefit from art and take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Olympic games, as well as introduce the development of the Korean culture industry.

150 government officials, entrepreneurs, scholars from the mainland and Taipei, collectors and students with an interest in the arts took part in the forum, allowing people to get to know more about the current development of the cultural industry and its future trends.
